Updates May 2024

Dear parents and guardians,

The 2024 - 2025 school year will bring a few changes in the student services department.

Ms. Heather Newman has been named the new Director of Student Services and will start July 1, 2024 replacing Mr. Jeff Ferranti who is retiring June of 2024.

New IEP forms will be introduced at your next IEP meeting. The forms may be new but the goal of the meetings will be the same: providing services that provide your child with a free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment with a focus on Student Vision!

The main goal of the Special Education staff is to make sure our children receive their IEP services in a safe and supportive environment.   For IEP meetings we will still extend in person and remote participation options for all families.

The Student Services Team is comprised of a very dedicated team of students, parents, teachers, administrators, related service providers and professional staff committed to improving opportunities and outcomes for all students. We invite all of you to join this dedicated team in any way that works best for you including participation in the Maynard Public Schools SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) activities.

In Maynard all students must and will be considered general education students first with full access to all services, events, activities and opportunities.
